Finding the right location for your celebration is a fundamental step that is essential. Everything stands and falls with the location.

It is not only the distance that is decisive for the service providers, but also the available premises and their conditions. 

Here is a selection of points that need to be clarified when looking for a location and which will influence the rest of the planning process:

  • What are the logistics for the guests to reach the location after the ceremony and how much time do you need to plan for the journey? 
  • Are there (sufficient) parking spaces?
  • Is it possible to have a free wedding ceremony on site?
  • Is there accommodation available or do the (out-of-town) guests have to be accommodated in hotels? And do we need a shuttle service in this context?
  • Does the location have its own catering facilities or does an external caterer have to be commissioned? 
  • Which catering concept is offered? Buffet, menu, a standing reception with canapés? What packages are being offered and which restrictions apply?
  • Is food tasting possible? Especially when it comes to an external caterer.
  •  Is a plate fee charged for the specially commissioned wedding cake? 
  • Does the location charge a corkage fee if you bring in your own favorite alcoholic beverages? 

 

  • Does the entire location need to be rented exclusively or can individual rooms be rented?
  • Is there a closing time?
  • How many bridal couples may be celebrating at the venue on the same day and are you shielded from them? 
  • What about sanitary facilities? Are there enough toilets available or do you have to share them with other guests? Or do you even have to hire toilet vans externally? 
  • What is the power supply like? Will it be suitable for your lighting and entertainment? 
  • Is there any space confinement for your entertainment? 
  • What does the room layout look like in terms of tables, dance floor, buffet, sweet table and other set-ups? 
  • Does the venue provide lounge furniture? 
  • Are there rooms for the service providers to prepare, change or store equipment? 
  • Is the use of sparklers, throwing fresh flower petals and confetti shooters allowed? What are the fire protection regulations to be adhered to? 
  • Does the location provide lighting or does this have to be hired externally? 
  • Do you pay a room rent or a minimum turnover? 
 
 
Questions upon questions, but they are absolutely essential to find out and critical when deciding on a location. 
With the assignment of the location scout, I will research locations for you according to your budget and parameters and present you the shortlist.
